At our recent Lotus Cancer Initiative outreach, every woman and man received a full wellness check because:
Early detection saves lives — many cancers, high blood pressure, and diabetes show no early symptoms. Additionally, these chronic conditions can increase your risks of cancers. Therefore, a quick check helps catch issues early.
Chronic diseases are increasing in Guyana. Screening helps prevent strokes, kidney failure, heart disease, and other complications.
Reproductive and sexual health matters — women received Pap/HPV screening, breast exams, and pelvic care; men received prostate health and general wellness checks.
A full wellness exam gives a complete picture — BP, glucose, weight/BMI, symptoms review, and personalized guidance, including recommendations for other tests based on risks that were picked up.
