New research published in JAMA Oncology (Dec 2025) highlights the powerful impact of HPV vaccination in preventing precancerous disease.

Key Findings
• Women who received at least one dose of the quadrivalent HPV vaccine had a 37% lower incidence of high-grade vulvovaginal lesions compared with unvaccinated women.

• The greatest protection was seen among girls vaccinated between ages 10–16, emphasizing the importance of early vaccination.

• Population-level reductions in disease were strongest in persons vaccinated through organized or subsidized vaccination programs, showing the impact of public health access initiatives.

What this means:
HPV vaccination not only protects against cervical cancer but also significantly reduces the risk of vulvar and vaginal precancers. Early vaccination saves lives and prevents disease.

Let’s continue working together to expand HPV vaccination and protect future generations.
