Earlier today, twelve cancer survivors were honoured on National Cancer Survivors Day, at an event hosted by the Lotus Cancer Initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
National Cancer Survivors Day is dedicated to celebrating survivors, remembering those who lost their battle with cancer, and encouraging those currently fighting the disease.
During the ceremony at Caraโs Lodge, the twelve cancer survivors shared their personal journeys, speaking about the challenges they faced and the pride they feel to overcome.
In his feature address, Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony described the observance as a significant milestone, noting that it was one of the first events in Guyana specifically focused on recognising cancer survivors.
