Women’s Health Talk with the Circle of Noor Women’s Group
The Lotus Cancer Initiative Inc. was delighted to spend time with the Circle of Noor Women’s Group for an engaging and empowering conversation about women’s health and wellness across the life course.
Our discussion went beyond cancer—we talked about the importance of taking care of ourselves at every stage of life, including:
Routine women’s wellness checks
Age-appropriate cancer screening and early detection
Cervical and breast cancer prevention
Understanding perimenopause and menopause
Managing changes in our bodies, emotions and overall wellbeing
Bone, heart and metabolic health as we age
Knowing when to seek medical attention
The importance of knowing your normal.
Menopause is a natural stage of life, but women should not have to suffer in silence. Understanding the changes that occur during this transition and knowing that support and treatment options are available are important parts of healthy ageing.
We also emphasized that screening is not “one size fits all.” The appropriate tests and timing depend on age, risk factors, family history and individual circumstances. Regular health checks and conversations with a healthcare provider can help women stay ahead of preventable disease and detect problems early.
At Lotus, we believe that women deserve to be informed, heard and supported—not only when they are sick, but throughout every stage of their lives.
