The Lotus Cancer Initiative Inc., in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH), hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Session at the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) in Georgetown, Guyana.

The session focused on early detection, screening, and prevention, encouraging participants to take proactive steps in caring for their health. Topics included breast self-examination, mammography, and available MOH screening services.

Dr. Shivani Samlall, highlighted the power of awareness:

“Bringing cancer education into workplaces and communities helps save lives through early detection and informed care.”

The Lotus Cancer Initiative continues to champion education, advocacy, and access to screening across Guyana—working toward a future where no woman, man or child is left behind in the fight against cancer.
